Notchverse
Privacy Policy

The short version
Notchverse has no account, no login and no analytics. Your files, clipboard, dictation, reminders, notes and saved links are written to your own Mac and are never sent anywhere.
Four features do reach the internet, because they can't work otherwise. They are listed below in full, along with exactly what leaves your Mac. Nothing else does.
What the app sends, and when

Every one of these is an ordinary web request, so the server on the other end sees your IP address, as it would for any website you visit. We don't log or keep them.
What never leaves your Mac
- Dictation. Speech is transcribed by macOS on the device. No audio is uploaded, by us or by Apple.
- Clipboard history. Stored locally and readable only by you.
- Files on the shelf. Copied into the app's own folder on your Mac.
- Screenshots. Handed to the app by macOS and kept locally.
- Reminders, to-dos, saved links, notes and teleprompter scripts. Plain files on your Mac.
- App usage time. The activity panel records which app was in front, minute by minute, in a file on your Mac. It is never sent anywhere. Turn it off in Settings and the file stops growing.
You can read and delete all of it yourself. It lives in ~/Library/Application Support/NotchLab. Deleting that folder resets the app completely.
Permissions the app asks for
- Microphone, only while you hold the dictation key.
- Accessibility, so dictation and the emoji picker can type into the app you're using. It is not used to read anything.
- Notchverse never asks for Location, Contacts, Photos, Calendar or Full Disk Access, and does not use them.
The website
notchverse.com is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. It sets no advertising or tracking cookies and runs no analytics script.
- If you claim a free download, the name and email you type are stored so we know who installed it. That's the only reason it's asked for.
- If you report a problem from inside the app, your message is stored along with the app version and macOS version, so the bug can be found.
- Your country is read from Cloudflare's own header so the page shows rupees or dollars. It isn't stored.
Payments
Payments are handled by Dodo Payments, or by Razorpay if you are in India. They take your payment details directly; we never see or store a card number. We receive your name, email and what you bought, so we can send a receipt and process a refund if you ask for one. Each of them has its own privacy policy covering the data it holds.
Who we share with
Nobody. No data is sold, rented, or handed to advertisers or data brokers. The services named above are used only to deliver the feature described beside them.
Your rights
Email [email protected] and we will tell you what is held about you, correct it, or delete it. Deletion is done within 30 days. There is not much to delete: for most people it is an email address and a purchase record.
Children
Notchverse is not directed at children under 13 and we don't knowingly collect anything about them.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that affects what is sent or stored, the date at the top changes and the change is described in the app's release notes.
